چکیده

Abstract The transformation in manufacturing capability being driven by new processes, such as additive manufacturing, offers huge potential for product innovation and opportunity to create bespoke designs tailored individual specifications or needs. However, current design systems tools are not yet capable of fully capitalizing on these technologies approaches needed. Many methodologies top-down sequential, offering limited flexibility an overly constrained space. Post-processing is needed ensure that a can be manufactured. This work presents novel bottom-up methodology generate tightly integrated with the environment respond flexibly changes environment. Mechanical Design of Viscoelastic Parts Fabricated Using Additive Manufacturing Technologies

Mechanical design of viscoelastic parts fabricated using additive manufacturing technologies are under consideration. Such a design is of great importance for obtaining final products with desired shape and strength which are determined by their stress-strain state. Mathematical model of model of viscoelastic solid which grows due to the process of additive manufacturing is proposed. Complete s...

Mechatronic Design for an Extrusion-Based Additive Manufacturing Machine

3D printers, especially in the implementation of innovative extrusion processes which do not have a long history of development, are often built by adapting mechanical designs, drives and controls previously developed for generic machine tools. This is done through a process of choice and integration which is based principally on empirical criteria and taking into account separately the differe...

A Hazard Analysis Technique for Additive Manufacturing

The promise of Additive Manufacturing (AM) includes reduced transportation and warehousing costs, reduction of source material waste, and reduced environmental impact. AM is extremely useful for making prototypes and has demonstrated the ability to manufacture complex parts not possible (or prohibitively expensive) with conventional machining. Scientists and manufactures are finding increased u...

Additive Manufacturing Defect Detection using Neural Networks

Currently defect detection in additive manufacturing is predominately done by traditional image processing, approximation, and statistical methods. Two important aspects of defect detection are edge detection and porosity detection. Both problems appear to be good candidates to apply machine learning. This project describes the implementation of neural networks as an alternative method for defe...

Design for Additive Manufacturing: a Method to Explore Unexplored Regions of the Design Space

Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies enable the fabrication of parts and devices that are geometrically complex, have graded material compositions, and can be customized. To take advantage of these capabilities, it is important to assist designers in exploring unexplored regions of design spaces. We present a Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) method that encompasses conceptual design...
